Closing an Existing Location
Introduction
This documentation aims to highlight the process of closing a location in Pulse that is no longer operating, rendering it inactive and preventing further use. This is also known as setting a location to an inactive status.
Regarding permissions, only users with the Admin role can close a location.
There are a few criteria that prevent a location from being closed in Pulse namely:
Active customers assigned to the location
Active users assigned to the location
Assigned stock at the location
Active child locations
Locations can only be closed once all customers, stock, and users have been unassigned.
Suppose a user attempts to close a location with any of the above criteria present. In that case, they will receive an error message stating, "This location cannot be closed because of [specific reason(s)]." The specific reason(s) will correspond to the applicable criteria mentioned above.
Once a location is set to inactive, it is no longer available to be assigned to users or customers, nor can it be used as a destination or origin for stock movements.
