This documentation will guide you on how to manage the users, as it will be done differently in Pulse 2.0 compared to how it’s done in Pulse 1.0
In Pulse 2.0, we have 3 permission groups so far (the list will be extended in the future):
MVP Basic
MVP Senior
MVP Admin
And 2 of the 3 groups (Basic and Senior) have limitations on what they can do on a user.
A. What can MVP Basic & MVP Senior user do?
MVP Basic and MVP Senior users can only change their passwords.
Changing the known password
Click on 9-dot menu
Click on User Settings
Click anywhere in the password card
Fill in the required information
Current password: user must know the current password in order to change it
User new password: user should input the new password that follow the criteria that are displayed below this field
User confirm password: use should add new password again in this field for confirmation
To save the new password, user should click on the Send button
NOTES: The eye icon:
On the free text fields when clicked, it shows the user what he is typing
That precedes the text “Show password criteria”, it shows/hide the password criteria
Resetting the forgotten password
Click on “Forgot password?”
Add your email
Choose the option to retrieve your password
B. What can MVP Admin user do?
An MVP Admin user can do literally everything, but in MVP, he will be able to:
Update his own password (use the above steps for changing the known password)
Create a new user
Search for the other users
Reset password for the other users (use the above steps for changing the known password)
Disable a user
Re-enable the user
Change Roles and Permissions
Add a permission
Remove / Delete a permission
Change the location (shop) of the user
1. Create a new user
Click on 9-dot menu > User Settings
Click on the plus icon to start creating a new user
Fill the Personal details (mandatory fields have a * in their labels) and click on ‘Next’ button
First name and Last name are mandatory
Username is the email
You choose the country code from the dropdown and fill the remaining digits of the phone number
Alternative email is optional
Choose Address (all the field are optional except the country field that cannot be left blank, as it’s pre-selected based on the country of the user who is creating a new user), the click on ‘Next’ button
Update the profile of the user you are creation, and click on ‘Next’ button
Job Title is optional
Manager’s email is mandatory and should be a working email
Department is optional
Password is mandatory, and in the below screenshot, you can see the password criteria. You don't need to use the predefined password, you can type in something like Test@12345
Update the location that this new user will be assigned to, and click on ‘Next’ button
Location level one is mandatory, here you select your NGU
Location level two is mandatory, here you select the shop
Allowed entities is optional, and it’s not needed in MVP, which why you won't find anything to select
Assign the roles to the new user, then click on ‘Next’ button
Choose the ‘Main role’ as it is mandatory, in MVP, use only one of the 3 MVP roles (MVP Basic, MVP Senior and MVP Admin)
Additional roles field is optional, and it’s not needed in MVP. Do not add additional roles
Summary: Review the details you have added to the user
Previous button is used when you want to change something before you create the user
Reset button is used to reset everything that you have already added
And you can cancel this flow by clicking on the X icon on the top right of the page
Create new user button is used to create the user
You will be notified if everything was successfully created. If something is wrong, you will get the red cross(es) not the green tick(s).
Click on Copy button, so that you can have the details, you can share with the new created user
Here are the copied details, to be shared to the user:
First name: Jacques
Last name: New Senior
Username: jacques.newsenior@bboxx.co.uk
Password: xu#Fnmkero
2. Search for the other users
Click on 9-dot menu > User Settings
Click on Search icon
On the left side of the screen, search for the user (using either the name or the email)
3. Disable a user
On the list of the searched users, click on the 3-dot menu
And click on ‘Disable’
A disabled user cannot access his account until he is re-enabled
4. Re-enable the user
You search for the user that you want to re-enable, and click on 3-dot menu
Click on Enable
5. Change Roles and Permissions
Search for the user you want to change the permissions for
Click on the user from the search results
User’s settings page will open
Click on the permission section
Click on Edit
To change the permission, for example from Basic to Senior, you need to delete the role
And choose the role, you want
6. Change the location (shop) of the user
Search and open the User’s Settings page
Click on the Location section. NOTE: below we get a message “No Location set for this shop”, this means that there are no geolocation coordinates saved in the shop details.
Click on ‘Edit’
Type in the shop name that you want to assign to the user, and choose the correct shop from the suggestions you get while typing the shop name
Click on Save changes
C. First steps for the new created user
It’s mandatory that the new created user changes the default password before he logs in.
Log in Pulse
You get the warning, asking you to change the password, then add the default password
