Home CU Disable by Default

Currently, products are enabled regardless of whether they are with a customer or at DC.

This means that CUs can be removed from the shop and continue being registered with a customer. These could be stolen or

if a replacement/installation is not correctly recorded

  • the customer could be recorded with the wrong CU number and nobody would notice it (until much later)
  • the customer might get free energy - if they are installed or swapped without their CUs being recorded.

CUs arrive at a shop disabled and will only be enabled when they are assigned as stock for a swap/installation.

They will remain active for 5 days so that the installation/swap is done with an active CU. If the installation/swap is not recorded within 5 days the CU is disabled again.

All the CUs not linked to a customer are disabled on a regular basis except:

  • The CU was assigned to a technician less than 5 days ago (and the assignment wasn’t canceled)
This is to allow the technician to perform the installation with a CU that is enabled.

  • The CU is in ‘in repair’ SMART Solar status

The benefits of this feature include:

  • Increased number of customers with correct serial number
  • Reduced time to record installation which will increase the amount collected at the beginning of the contract

How to activate the feature?
